Orthos

Orthos a large quadrapedal chimera with avian features. They have large wings on their backs, the bodies of lions, sharp serrated claws, and a sharp beak.

Orthos have immense physical strength and durability being able to take bullet fire and weapons with ease. They have a powerful set of wings that make them move at high speeds, and the ability to heal and regenerate.   They not only have a high amount of spirit due to their strong souls and can even make an spirit cloak something no other beast can do despite having a soul. Through their spirit they can fire explosive orbs of holy light.

The Orthos reproduce sexually making clusters of up to 5 dense eggs that hatch in 1 week.

Ortho hatchlings become adolescent in 2 weeks and adults in 3 months.

Habitat

  Orthos typically live in plains, hills, and mountains.  

Behavior

  Orthos live in groups of hundreds called the clutches that graze in one location up to 10 miles. Clutches of Orthos are lead by 3 Alphas these alphas can be either male or female and the three Alphas gets their pick of the other Orthos to mate with. They are innately docile towards celestials and hostile towards other creatures killing those who come near their territory.  

Bonded

  Orthos are loyal companions once bonded to another putting themselves in harms way to defend their partner. Their loyalty is unmatched remaining obedient to their partners until death.  

Breeding & Parenting

  Orthos in clutches aren't allowed to breed unless chosen to be a partner by the alpha. Orthos hatchlings are raised by the clutch not the parents trained in how to hunt and kill.

Orthos are carnivorous eating other beasts and insects needing 200lbs. of food a week.

Orthos will shed their feathers and claws every winter, also going into hibernation throughout the winter. At the start of spring they enter a mating season, all congregating in various breeding grounds.

Orthos are peaceful beings who aren't known for attacking people except in times of starvation. They are very loyal to those who it sees as stronger than them being great battle companions and cavalry.

The Ortho are a race of creatures who value their perfection and strength among all pledging their allegiance to those they see as powerful and perfect. The strongest ones in their clutch become alphas and are the only ones allowed to procreate passing their genes to their offspring. Orthos will only bond with those who bear celestial genes because it's perfection to them any other creature would be lesser in their eyes.

Orthos aren't difficult to tame if you bear celestial genes but impossible if you don't. They can be rendered docile if you give them food although complete control required years of training from infancy or the spirit chain technique.

Orthos are highly intelligent animals being able to plan and coordinate, as well as use their spirit like mortals and even be incredibly proficient like the seraphim.

The Orthos have a heightened sense of hearing, smell, and sight so much that it can see in the dark. This creature has the ability to track others through the presence of their souls.

Photana Deer: One of the main herbivore of photonis breeding quickly and being an excellent source of food for the orthos.
