Noragado

The Noragado is a powerful and merciless predatory beast found in the Rotten Waste of Asteria. The Noragado is one of the most respected and feared beasts of the heartland of sagittarius those who encounter it attempt to run but they don't get far. Dubbed the Cruel Clawed Behemoth the Noragado is the apex predator of the Rotten Chasm.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Noragado is a huge quadrapedal predatory creature with a slender build, grey scales over their body, a long tail, two sets of claws on all 4 legs one set for climbing and the other set has 6 claws are retractable used for attacking prey causing immense bleeding as the claws are serrated. Noragado has a powerful maw lined with sharp, serrated teeth cutting through creatures with a bite.   The Noragado's reaction time is twice as fast as normal creatures although this makes the beast more vulnerable to foreign chemicals and poisons. This beast has a wellspring of draconic essence in it's body mainly in a series of glands in it's back although unlike other asterian beasts with draconic essence it can't freely use this energy in the form of breath attacks or anything of the sort it rather increases it's own physical attacks and speed.

Biological Traits

The Noragado has immense speed and stamina being able to move at 300mph for hours on end, they have a set of sharp, serrated claws used for inflicting heavy bleeding wounds on their prey. They have a supreme sense of smell being able to track their prey from 3 miles away & due to it's diet it has an immunity to carrion based pathogens.   Noragado's are weak to cold and electric shocks as well as neurotoxins a weakness gained from it's increased reaction time. These beasts are full of draconic essence although it can't freely manipulate it themselves instead using it to further magnify their physical capabilities once they enter their overdrive state increasing their metabolism, natural healing, speed, and strength for a short time although this is heavily taxing on their body.

Genetics and Reproduction

Noragados reproduce sexually making up to 3 offspring after a gestation period of 3 months.

Growth Rate & Stages

Noragado will grow to fletching after 2 months, adolescent after 1 year and fully grown at 1 year. Once Noragado reach the age of 50 they will evolve further into the "White Noragado".

Ecology and Habitats

Habitat

The Noragado dwell in the Rotten Chasm making covens in the walls of the graveyard of death, rot, & decay.

Ecology

Hunting & Combat

The Noragado is both a predator and a scavenger hunting small prey, large powerful prey, and consuming dead things. Noragado uses it's immense speed to move at high velocity bouncing off the ground and walls to unleash a flurry of claw attacks on it's prey causing immense bleeding in it's prey. Once the prey is dead the Noragado will take it's prey as well as other peices of flesh to it's lair to consume later.   If a Noragado takes enough damage and expends enough energy it will enter an adrenaline rush state increasing metabolism and augmenting it's physical capabilities. It's body glows white hot, feels scorching to the touch, it's strength and speed is increased immensely, and it begins to heal it's body of any wounds. This trait will give the beast intense exhaustion needing alot of food to regain it's energy. Noragado will eat their own kind If they are dead.

Mating & Parenting

Noragado are solitary beasts only meeting for the purpose of mating every spring. These beasts will search for another one of them and as a mating ritual they fight each other and the one who dominates is seen as the more dominant and mating & raising kids will occur in the victors den. The victor uses the stored flesh in their own coven to aid and heal their mate before the mating process.   Once the babies are born they are cared for by the female while the male hunts for food gaining more flesh that the normal amount a way of knowing if a Noragado has a family is if they hunt more than 200lbs. of flesh a week. Noragado will fight to the death for their children and show genuine affection to their offspring. Once the babies are adolescent they are taught how to hunt by both parents until they reach adulthood leaving the coven they where raised in to go their own way, the mated pair will go their separate ways after raising their kids.

"The Noragado came to us in the ancient forest and attacked with the deadly serrated claws. It was clearly hungry but unable to get anything bigger due to the Gulira roaming the forest. It nabbed me, held me in its jaws and carried me down to the rotten chasm and put me with its mound of rotting flesh. - Astrea"   "One of the apex predators of Asteria, a majestic beast, sleek and slender but also deadly as its many claws can cause heavy bleeding in its prey. Its speed is immense, being able to move ten times faster than horses and keeps its prey on its toes through its mobility as it leaps from walls seemingly haphazardly. If you come across this beast which you rarely will practice caution. - Apollo''   "Hmmm, quite a mighty and ferocious beast, these Noragado will make a great addition to the darkin forces. We may have to test their capabilities and an assault on Acadia seems fitting. - Nyx"
