Empyrite
Empyrite is one of the most hard metals known to mortals as it's an alloy of steel and mithril. This alloy is the most plentiful ultra-hard material in most civilized worlds and one of the most expensive. Empyrite is used alot by underground civilizations like dwarves and drow being so close to the necessary materials.
Properties
Physical & Chemical Properties
Empyrite is one of the hardest metals known to mortals being an alloy of steel and mithril, the hardness gets even stronger although the weight returns to its former weight. Armor made of Empyrite is durable enough to block critical attacks & weapons made of it can cleave through many objects. Empyrite is highly resistant to conductivity being hard to affect through heat and electricity.
History & Usage
History
Empyrite was made by the Eidolons as they were experimenting with different metals & crystals to make a more powerful material. Empyrite was used by them for a while until it was further evolved into orichalium. Once civilization rose again they began to frame this alloy for its great defensive properties and dwarves made this alloy and began to sell it to surface civilizations.
Everyday use
Empyrite is used to make great and powerful weapons, armor, & ammunition.
Refinement
Empyrite is refined from the smelting of steel & mithril
Hazards
Empyrite when smelting without proper equipment can leave skin color changes and breathing problems.
Distribution
Trade & Market
The market for Empyrite is high due to the potential of the alloy many if not all civilizations covet Empyrite. It's typically made underground by drow & dwarves and sold to the surface civilizations.
