Cenkuvin
The Cenkuvin are an ancient race of monstrous beasts that once lived during the Old Days in the forests of Photonis. They are the ancestors of the owlbears having immense strength and durability and a hostile attitude. They were taken by Seraphim as pets and war beasts being able to contend with powerful mechs cutting metal with their claws and strength.
Basic Information
Anatomy
The Cenkuvin are hulking brutes standing at 14ft. tall, bearing a thick coat of fur and feathers covering their extremely powerful muscles. They have sharp claws capable of cutting stone & metal, their faces have the appearance of an owl capable of turning their heads 360°.
Genetics and Reproduction
Cenkuvin reproduce sexually although they only do it during the spring. Cenkuvin lays up to 12 large round brown eggs which take 5 months to hatch.
Growth Rate & Stages
Infant Cenkuvin grows to a fledgling after 3 months, an adolescent after 3 years, a mature cenkuvin after 5 years, and an elder after 10 years.
Ecology and Habitats
The Cenkuvin are solitary, savage and vicious apex predators that typically live in forests but can be found in hills, mountains, and even tundras. They are mighty hunters who are known for taking a lot of kills to keep their bodies going, nearly wiping out ecosystems when enough live in one.
Lairs & Territory
- Cenkuvin make their lairs in caves that are either already there or they made themselves. Cenkuvin's territory can stretch out to three miles of its lair, made where a lot of fauna live, and often adorned with claw marks on the trees in the territory. Two Cenkuvin will never share the same territory when one meets with another they fight to determine who keeps the territory these fights can last a while and end when one is dead.
Hunting & Combat
- A Cenkuvin will hunt the largest creature they could find: wolf, deer, or person. Despite their savage and brutish lifestyle Cenkuvin will often use stealth to hunt as well as their sense of smell. Once Cenkuvin fight their prey they pull no punches they will initially pounce on their prey using a bite and a crushing hug to kill their prey. When they can't end the kill in one strike they will use their claws and toss nearby objects at their prey like boulders and trees. Cenkuvin we're resistant to a lot of physical damage and don't let it slow them down being reckless berserkers when they fight. Once killed the Cenkuvin will either eat their prey there or take it back to their lair.
Mating & Parenting
- Cenkuvin are solitary and territorial only dealing with each other during the spring in a state of heat. During the spring many Cenkuvin congregate to one location for large breeding acts that can last for days. Hundreds of eggs are made and buried in the ground to be left to hatch and grow as Cenkuvin don't raise their kids.
Interactions With People
- Cenkuvin are unruly and violent; they don't listen to people and would rather kill and eat any person that comes into their territory.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Cenkuvin have a large requirement for nutrients, being exclusively carnivorous they consume up to 300lbs. of food and water from any creature they hunt. The Cenkuvin will eat any meat whether it be from a beast or person.
Biological Cycle
During the spring the Cenkuvin enter a state of heat where many breed together to make eggs and keep their population growing. Cenkuvin hibernates during the winter, closing off their lair with boulders.

Domestication
The Cenkuvin are difficult if not impossible to tame even if they are taken as babies once they reach adolescence they become very unruly and violent.
Uses, Products & Exploitation
Cenkuvin were taken by Seraphim as pets and war beasts often being used for conquest and war. They are hunted during the fall, their flesh being a delicacy to seraphim and other races. Their bones and claws are sold and used for gardening and farming.
Geographic Origin and Distribution
The Cenkuvin lived in Photonis dwelling in the forests of the seraphim heartland.
Average Intelligence
The Cenkuvin are not that intelligent although their aptitude for combat and hunting is high.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
The Cenkuvin have incredible senses they can see in the dark up to 120ft. away, their sense of smell is so strong they can pick up on others scent and can track them up to 10 miles. Their hearing is enhanced by being able to pick up on the faintest sound.
