Braecium
Braecium is a rare & paracausal biomaterial made from the blood of the Nianin & Illuleon. This biomaterial has the hardness of steel as well as having the ability to absorb both positive & negative energy. Braecium is typically used by the Soulleal and other forces allied with Null-Father to circumvent the light and other dark users, it's also part of the formula to make Dasmalium the outer chassis of the Umbral Fleet ships.
Properties
Material Characteristics
Braecium is a jet black biometal cold to the touch and has a numbing feeling when in proximity.
Physical & Chemical Properties
Despite being a biomaterial, Braecium has the hardness of steel. Braecium also has the ability to absorb both positive and negative energy once it gets within 30ft. of the metal.
Geology & Geography
Braecium can be found in the corpses of the Nianin & Illuleon typically in swarm dreadnaughts as they are made from the bodies of the Nianin.
Origin & Source
The first amount of Braecium was widespread after the Great Storm as all of the Illuleon were thought to be killed by the sages as their corpses landed on Photonis & Umbronis.
History & Usage
History
Braecium was researched by the Eidolons being thought of as a powerful material to be used against the seraphim due to them being filled with light based energy of their god Zelgius. The Eidolons in secret manufactured weapons, armor, & ammunition to be used in a war against the seraphim.
However the Braecium the eidolons possessed was stolen by the Soulleal to be used for their own purposes. This material was rarely seen by other mortals and typically used to make the outer chassis of the Umbral Fleet when alloyed with black stellarium.
Refinement
Once the blood of Illuleon and Nianin was shed all it took was 2 hours for the blood to calcify into Braecium.
Hazards
Due to its ability to siphon positive and negative energy injection or injury via braecium can lead to a slow death as trace amounts left in siphon the positive energy of mortal life & the negative energy of undead.
Environmental Impact
Deposits of braecium can suck the life out of its environment making it inhospitable.
