Astral Horses

While untamed Astral Horses are gaseous bluish white beings vaguely shaped as horses. Once they find their masters they take on a form that reflects them gaining varied forms depending on the master although they are solid physical horses wreathed in energy matching their new forms.

Astral Horses when they aren't bound to anyone have intangibility, teleportation, and the ability to tap into the well of souls. Once bound to a master they lose their astral form becoming solid and having a form reflecting their master. Bound Astral Horses have incredibly speed and stamina as well as strength, being able to move at 180 mph.   These beasts once bound can be summoned to their master's side and banished back to the well of souls although some masters bind their steed to another location to send them back to. Astral Horses have the power to greatly increase their master's power when they ride into battle continually recharging their spirit while riding.

Astral Horses don't reproduce themselves rather the Well Of Souls creates new steeds every century.

Astral Horses live in the ethereal realm outside the well of souls awaiting a master through the echoes of well. Going through the memories of each and every soul there to learn of one of the living that can be their master. Once they have that master in mind they will do everything in their power to manipulate the chosen person to an echo going through their dreams and minds to influence them into go to an echo.   Once that chosen mortal gets to an echo the steed will sprout from it and bond to the master altering their form to reflect their master. Once then the two will remain bound for life through a telepathic link. A mortal can have more than one astral horse

Astral Horses primarily live in the Well Of Souls awaiting a master although a small few dwell on zodia & midgard as they found masters.

Astral Horses bear a higher level of intelligence than normal animals but lower than mortals.

Mortals

  Astral Horses have a symbiotic relationship with mortals seeking them out to forge a bond and ride together until the master dies then the steed will return to their realm.

Mayhem, The White Horse

  The steed bound to the nephilim loki. Mayhem took the form of a white horse, with a glowing white mane, donned in shimmering armor. Once Loki & Mayhem rode into battle very few could stand up to mayhem's speeds and physical might while Loki rained bullet & arrow fire being a force of nature in the Old War & Raven War. Mayhem met a sad end at the hands of Odin once it was exposed that loki was in a relationship with a giantess.  

Grani, The Garden Horse

  The steed of Mavis Ackerman, The Raven Queen the two formed a bond after the Grey Hunt making the two long time friends. Being bound to Mavis gave grani the form of a vibrant green horse covered in moss and flowers, her mane vibrant long grass, & as she ran patches of grass, moss, and flowers grew in her wake.   Grani has been a friend and steed to Mavis for tens of thousands of years being a great aid in the Old War & the Raven War. To this day grani remains in the asgardian empire by her master's side.  

Bestla, The Elder Horse

  Bestla is the steed of the nephilim mimir the two remaining close since the Old War. Bestla due to being bound to mimir takes the form a blue horse, runes of many languages carved into her flesh, and a flowing blue mane. She was never much of a fighter rather she could communicate with other animals as well as nature itself feeding information to her master in various endeavors.  

Llamrei, The Lake Horse

  Llamrei is the steed of the nephilim wife of merlin nimue, lady of the lake. Llamrei takes the form of a vibrant cerulean horse, & has flowing algae for a mane as she runs rivers and bubbles follow her.   She can not only walk on water but breathe underwater as well giving nimue the same power when they ride. When they ride waves are generated pushing back those in range of her charge, when she runs in a circle she conjures a pool of water all in the circle fall in.  

Gringolet, The Mystic Horse

  Gringolet is the steed of the avalonian nephilim merlin. Due to his bond with merlin he takes the form of a vibrant purple horse with arcane runes on it's body, & when he rides he leaves a trail of purple astral flames in his wake.   Gringolet is capable of casting spells while merlin rides on his back typically using evocation & abjuration spells. Upon merlin's death Gringolet bonded to his former master's daughter merlina keeping the same abilities and remaining an ally of merlin's family till this day.  

Hengeron, The King Horse

  Hengeron is the steed of Arthur bonding during the Shadow War on Midgard. Hengeron took the form of a golden horse, with a golden white energy like mane, & as he runs he leaves a trail of golden white energy.   Hengeron & Arthur where a force to be reckoned with during the shadow war. Hengeron was killed during the shadow war in battle leaving arthur distraught and broken after the loss of his horse.  

Bucephalus, The Black Horse

  Bucephalus was the steed of Gwenivere the two bonding during the shadow war. Being bonded to Gwenivere gave it the form of a black horse with crimson markings on his body, an astral blood red mane, & when he rides he leaves trails of blood in his wake. Bucephalus was a savage killer like his master despite having the appearance of an herbivore he would pummel his foes to death causing bleeding for Gwenivere to control and even eating the flesh of the freshly killed.   Many people who saw them ride would instantly attempt a retreat knowing of their brutality and cruelty, as they ride on an ocean of blood. The two where incredibly close and nothing could separate them. Bucephalus died during the shadow war stabbed in the neck by his master before she perished.
