Winning wars in this land of Sunder

This is a text written in its entirety by Danijela Faberska in late 12 century A.R. It describes tactics, formations, and general advice on waging war, all created for the Rynkowskian nobilities usage. Since it's release, it has become a popular text for young commanders-to-be and knights to read, though there Rynkowskian groups that consider the text an afront to the traditions of the Rynkowskian people, especially in regards to its apparent disregard of nobility. The text is unpopular in many of the major cities and settlements, but widely popular to those "nobles" who find themselves in charge of keeps or castles in the countryside of Sundermark.

Purpose

Winning wars in this land of Sunder was written by Danijela in order to help Rynkowskian commanders move on from the tactics used by their ancestors. Historical Details

Background

In the 12th century A.R, as The Time of Kings turned to history, and The Sundered Age took it's place, war changed. Until now, the Rynkowskian kings and nobles had waged war in largely the same way for several centuries, but suddenly, they all found themselves with less and less resources. This change left a hole in the Rynkowskian peoples understanding of the wars they so often waged. Furthermore, the chaotic nature that the land adopted left former tactics useless, and oftentimes destructive to those who sought to employ it.

Danijela was born to a lesser house of nobility ruling a small keep, north-east of the Dimgate, along with the paired wiezek to the keep. Her father, an older man at the time of her birth, was the only surving member of one of the countless families who had faced their doom at The Fall of Kings. She grew up with tales, and texts, from her ancestors who had for centuries served as commanders for the Lords of the Dimgate. Thus, from a young age she was interested in the tactics and logistics of warfare, however, she too quickly noticed that the strategy of past times was greatly outdated to the current nature of her homeland.

When her father died, she was named the new lady of her home. With the title, she also inherited a sizable treasury, never having been used for much by her father, a quiet and timid man, with little ambition. She would unexpectedly abandon her own keep, deciding instead to pursue her own interests. She'd leave her loyal childhood friend in charge, and take off, all in order to figure out how to "Win battles in this land of Sunder".
