Divinity
The land of Zlotkar is home to many minor dieties. These come in countless forms and shapes, and no two are alike. Some of them were once major gods in the past. See, in our current time most known lands are populated by worshippers of the dieties who are now known as The Divine Sovereigns, but this was not always the case. The Divine Sovereigns have for centuries tried to erase a past where not only where they not in charge, but they were not even alive. They present themselves as intrinsic to the universe, and as the only true gods, challanged only by those known as The Renounced. Claiming them to have once been their siblings, who had then betrayed them, and thus became known as The Renounced. However none of this is true, and the followers of The Renounced largely reject this idea that their gods were once brethren of the foul Sovereigns. In fact, some of The Renounced are far older then The Divine Sovereigns, and were once far more powerful during ages past.
Running around the world are still a number of minor dieties, though they are often hunted by the clergy of The Divine Sovereigns, and they are often afraid to truly work in the open. Many of them still remember the days when The Divine Sovereigns roamed the different planes without heed, but since the
The Concord was struck the gods do not travel freely anymore. This has caused the more brave minor dieties to crawl out of hiding, begining to spread their influence. At the same time, new dieties are sometimes created, or born. Sometimes the offspring of other dieties, and sometimes created by the worship they recieve by groups of people, and sometimes by other mysterius means.
Either way, to those that follow The Divine Sovereigns, that being most mortal beings, these so called "minor dieties" are naught but pretenders. Powerful creatures who claim godhod for themselves without legitimacy! Whereas the The Divine Sovereigns are true gods. Beings connected to concepts unlike any others.
The Divine Hunt or Divine Betrayal
This was a conflict between the Divine Sovereigns and most other Divine beings. The group of gods known as the Divine Sovereigns had garnered so much strenght over a few thousand years from worship from all the different planes, that they now believed they were strong enough to try and claim the universe for themselves. They founded the Divine Imperium, and began to hunt and slaughter the other divines. They had their followers wage war on all who worshipped other divine beings. The Divine Sovereigns made up the lie that the most powerful of the other gods had once been their siblings, but had betrayed them and now only sought the destruction of all that is good. This gave way to the name for these gods, The Renounced. This was also when the Sovereigns invented the lie that they had always been gods, and that they were the creators of existence it self.
