Elves

When referring to a player character's race/ancestry, statistics for elves may include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Aquatic Elf
  • Astral Elf
  • Dark Elf (Drow)
  • High Elf
  • Moon Elf
  • Pallid Elf
  • Sun Elf
  • Wild Elf (Wyld)
  • Wood Elf
Age: Although elves reach physical maturity at about the same age as humans, the elven understanding of adulthood goes beyond physical growth to encompass worldly experience. An elf typically claims adulthood and an adult name around the age of 100 and can live to be 750 years old.   Some ancient elven lore discusses the connection of elves to an aspect of "the primal divine". This involves an elf of great power attuning to some element of nature (such as a great tree, a geyser or hot spring, or other natural phenomenon) and effectively becoming immortal as long as that natural element remains. This has been theorized to explain the legend of Abiriliel, an elven female of lore, who, according to stories, bound herself to a great fir tree, and lived to see two thousand years, until the fire giants razed her forest.   Alignment: Elves love freedom, variety, and self- expression, so they lean strongly toward the gentler aspects of chaos. They value and protect others’ freedom as well as their own, and they are more often good than not.
