The pits of the barrens are rumored to be endless, and legends say that the only way out if you fall in, is to make a deal with the creature of the void that dwells in the deepest darks. A legendary cryptid known only as the Ash Howler stalks the most desolate places of the Barrens. When night falls, the few nomadic tribes that live there go completely silent - not hiding, but somehow seem to completely disappear - in order to avoid the creature. The Ash Howler's unearthly cries resemble the screams of a hundred children, echoing throughout the Barrens as it prowls.
