Inscription | House Rule
House Rule
- Wizards can inscribe higher level spells into their spell book
- The same rules apply, 50gp per level + 2 hrs per level to inscribe/copy.
- Also they must roll a DC after the materials and time are spent relative to the difficulty of the spell
- During the inscription, the words of the scroll are transcribed over magically.
- This is innate to magical transcription/inscription because the words are magical, and were written in a way to not be permanent or long-lasting.
Example:
- I am a level 2 wizard trying to inscribe a 4th level spell, I currently cannot cast normally within the given spell slots
- You must make an ability check using your spellcasting ability to determine whether you cast inscribe the higher level magic.
- The DC equals 10 + the spell’s level (or DC 14) vs INT check.
- On a failed check, the spell scroll disappears from the scroll with no other effect.
