Preface
Due to Zeppelin Skies setting its preference on 18+, mature audiences, as referenced in (introduction), it is important to make these truths clear to anyone who is interested in joining the roleplay or is currently participating.
These are not a list of rules.
Many of you may believe these truths, disclaimers, notes, etc, are obvious or even standard-procedure in a typical roleplay. However, some may not, and it is important to address this now so confusion and potential discontent may be avoided. If you wish to join the roleplay, genuinely consider these points below, as they shall remain true throughout the course of Zeppelin Skies. If you find yourself disagreeing, or uninterested, please take time to consider whether or not it is worth your time to participate in this roleplay.
Otherwise, enjoy.
I. Times can become challenging, defeats are inevitable, losses will be counted, pain shall be felt.
There will be times that not just your character, but you, may feel uncomfortable, perhaps even appalled, by what you experience in the roleplay. Understand that this is apart of the story, the experience of an immersive world, and not any kind of personal attacks upon ideas, beliefs, or morals that you may have. The story is designed to challenge your character and it is up to you to play out how your character will overcome these challenges.
II. Death is possible.
The majority of roleplayers do not enjoy the reality that their beloved characters may die, they may even dread it. Although character deaths shall be upheld as significant ordeals, rare in occurrence, they are not ruled out.
III. You won't know everything.
There are many aspects of the story intentionally kept hidden, disguised, and unmentioned. Understand now that this is not a lack of thought put into the roleplay's story, but rather a challenge for everyone to explore the secrets & lore of Zeppelin Skies.
IV. Everyone is treated equally.
Essentially, consequences/rewards/events will be delivered regardless of who the character is, or who the player controlling the character is. We, the staff of Zeppelin Skies, uphold a serious policy of absolutely zero favoritism & zero targeting. No-one should have any expectation to gain favours IC by doing things OOCly.
V. The rules are not suggestions, they were designed to be enforced.
This roleplay can be very relaxed as long as everyone makes an effort to follow along with the rules, especially regarding our policy of no unnecessary OOC in sessions. Sometimes we may let things slide, especially if we understand it was an honest mistake, but repeat offenses must be addressed. We are not opposed to removing members from the roleplay if they cannot adhere to the rules even after being reminded of them. Honestly, none of us want to be strictlers or fun police, however if we're going to build a roleplay together that brings us to new heights we need to ensure good quality in the server.
VI. OOCly, the roleplay is meant to be a fun hobby, please treat it as such.
The reason that I specifically highlight this is simple, some people take things way too seriously, especially when they project high expectations on staff/GMs to fulfill their wishes and desires. We offer many things, but we cannot offer everything. It takes time to consider things, develop things, implement this or that. A lot of thought must be made concerning aspects of the world that a player may suggest to include, while it may seem logical for them, it may be problematic for staff. Understand that this is a fun community effort and be relaxed about things please.
VII. This roleplay is designed to be very inclusive, from newbies to veterans of roleplay.
There is bound to be newbies that join the roleplay and honestly don't really know what they're doing, whether it's because they are new to the server or they are literally new to the concept of roleplaying, especially on VRChat. Everyone starts somewhere, and we should all pitch-in and help the newbies to either learn the server or learn how to roleplay in general on VRChat. Although we will be more lenient with newbies when it comes to the rules, we will not make entire exceptions if someone simply cannot adapt to the rules & server as a whole.
