Umbra Drakk

Born and created from The Wild Wood, these creatures have been here 900 years before the Calamity and that was probably the first generation of them watching the The Calamity, but did not do anything to stop them. The Umbra Drakks have a very neutral way of looking at everything. The only thing that they strongly look forward to is The Awakening.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The Umbra Drakks have a barky-moss like skin, with 2 arms, legs, hands, feet. They have a large 4-6ft tail in the shape of a slim leaf. Their eyes vary from 2-4 eyes like the Borshire Tribe of the Ursalian. No one knows what the inside of one is because of their aging, they've never died of old age that people know of.

Biological Traits

An average life span normally doesn't get seen much, but the occasional life long friendship between few species in Rakasha sees the Umbra Drakk last as long as 9 centuries, with some lasting longer if possessing "The Wild Heart's Blessing." This mark from The Wild Wood allows the Umbra Drakk's "Roots" or lifespan to last as long as they continue to be marked.

Genetics and Reproduction

You wantin' to know how them little creatures of the Wild Wood reproduce. Well I've seen it happen and let me tell you it is the most beautiful thing to watch. When one dies, and I can't reme'er who died that I got to see this happen with, but when they die they get pulled and dragged back into the Wild Wood and in, from what they told me, 3 or so days they are reborn anew. From what they were telling me is that whatever season they were before will start to grow flowers and other plant matter in the form of them and will regain consciousness but with a new name and in a new "den." The wild wood really loves those things. But could ya blame it! They're beautiful with their hair and skin and the way how they are so friendly.

Growth Rate & Stages

Exceptionally long living species is not uncommon to the world of Rakasha, but Umbra Drakk aging is the only one of its kind due to the connection with The Wild Wood each Umbra Drakk shares. Time has no real meaning to them because they have so much of it. As such, one decade for an Umbra Drakk will only feel like one year to them, resembling the natural cycle of the woods.

Ecology and Habitats

Their bodies slightly change during the different seasons. These slight changes could be color, leaves falling off, eyes color changes.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Food equal to their tail mass, they mainly use the Zenyki Incantation to either heat their prey or shock their prey, but have been known to use both the Lunoris Incantation and the Crypticran Incantation to get food. Storage isn't really an issue for them because they hunt only what they need at that moment and not to keep some for later. This is to preserve the balance to The Wild Wood and its contributors.

Additional Information

Social Structure

The Umbra Drakks have several smaller groups called Dens, within the Den is a Paragon of The Den, whom function as a guide, parent, and leader of the Den. Younger Umbra Drakk often seek advice and spiritual connection to the The Wild Wood through the Paragon's teachings.

Facial characteristics

They have a Gecko-like snout that extends 1-2 ft. Most have only 1 pair of eyes but some are grown with 2 pairs. To help transition with the rest Rakasha's species, they style moss, vines, and flowers like hair to help integrate.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Mainly The Wild Wood but some have been found on other parts of the continent, like Ashkath, The Ghost Wastes, or The Arandal Mountains, also very rarely have some been spotted in The Kal Empire.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Umbra Drakk possess the five senses most sapient creatures. Additionally, they are capable of Spell-Weaving with the exception of the forbidden Teuthida Incantation. Additionally, Awakened Umbra Drakk can extend these physical sensations to The Wild Wood through a symbiotic partnership. They have a very strong and connected feeling to The Wild Wood.
