Arak-Shai

The Arak-Shai is a Dwarven brand placed upon the foreheads of those exiled from Dwarven Lands. The brand is arcane in nature, but, as far as the Dwarves are aware, there is no means of removing the brand. The sigil branded onto their forehead resembles a mountain, shattered down its center. The arcane aspects of the brand also cause it to be passed on to the exiles offspring, marking their clan and all future generations as being exiles.   This level of punishment is very rarely used. Over the past thousand years, it has only been used on two clans. The first clan was the IronCaster clan after they attempted to assassinate the Dwarven king. The second is the Scorched Hammer Clan, exiled after attempting to stage a coup to prevent the signing of the peace treaty between the Dwarves and the Elves to bring the Knelik Wars to an end.   Those who are shamed and given the brand lose all of their rights as people within Dwarven lands. This prevents them from being able to purchase property and most dwarves will refuse to serve them.    Outside of Dwarven lands, the brand doesn't carry as much impact. However, as within the Dwarven lands, most Dwarves will still refuse to serve them.
