The HOG Report: The Ragman Rises

11 Spring, 500 A.O.V.

Lester Nessorc

Today, in these very pages, you can read that the vicious killer known as the Ragman has left another victim dead on the streets of Flint. You can also read that this is at least the Ragman’s sixth victim, depending how you count. And you can read that there have been many more reports of young people going missing, whose fate is unknown but whose unexplained disappearances have also been attributed to the Ragman.

But what you have not yet read in this esteemed journal is a report of any useful action by the Flint Police Department to apprehend this maniacal murderer.

To be sure, the Flint Police say they have been investigating “diligently.” They said that today, and they also said it last week, and the week before that. However, when asked what form these investigations have taken, a police spokesperson had no comment.

As far as this reporter can tell, the police haven’t even rounded up the usual suspects.

Why the foot-dragging? In years past, a single murder would see the FPD scouring the waterfront and arresting dozens of dockers for assaulting police officers by bleeding onto their uniforms.

What’s different this time? Why aren’t the police making at least a show of an effort? Have the Flint Police been told to look the other way in this case? And if so, by whom?

A Half-Orc Gentleman wants to know.
