The HOG Report: Death and Diplomacy
2 Summer, 500 A.O.V.
There is still very little to report on yesterday’s grisly incident at the Danoran Consulate. We can, at least, report the statements made by investigators of the Royal Homeland Constabulary in response to this reporter’s questions.
How did this tragedy occur? The RHC’s official account is, “No comment.”
Was it an attempt to derail the treaty negotiations with Danor? Again, “No comment.”
How will this affect the King’s upcoming wedding to Lya Jierre? The response was – let me check my notes – “NO COMMENT” (emphasis theirs).
It is not even clear if the unfortunate victim was trying to break into the consulate, or to break out, or was somehow the victim of an unlikely accident.
In this reporter’s experience, such reticence, without even the usual police platitudes, is a definite sign that something big is going on – something political – and it’s being covered up.
Whatever it is, readers of the Tribune can trust this Half-Orc Gentleman to uncover the truth.
