Skyseer Visions
Malachai’s Visions
Vision - Apet
In the Ziggurat of Apet:
The planet Apet drifts through the stars. You see it closer than ever: an orb of swirling gray clouds, and around it the silvery ring of the plane Reida. When skyseers peer into the heavens, they believe this ring shows the past and future. But the ring is incomplete. An arc has been snapped out of the circle. Your own reflection on its surface stands mere feet from the end of time.
You step into your reflection, stand upon the edge of the ring. Cracked shards of icy silver crunch under your feet. You can look down and see the endless dust storms of Apet, look out and see the heavens wheeling about you. And when you look forward, thou- sands of miles away, you can see the other end of the snapped ring. If you looked long enough, you could see the dawn of history.
Vision - After Cauldron Hill
You sit in a field of grass, the night sky overhead, the planets hanging huge and low. Breeze whips the grass across your skin, and a tiger stalks you, somewhere out in the dark.
A light flares overhead, an old blue star called Mishados, and it begins to drift downward. Not to the horizon, but toward the earth. Then other stars rattle, like grains of sand shaken loose from a wet glass, and their descent turns to a plummet, turns to a streaking rain of light. They fall in all directions, but you know where Mishados will fall, and you know you must catch it.
Vision - The Bird Sings
A voice says something in a language that you do not understand. You can’t even recognize what language it is. The voice gets more insistent. Clearly, the message is important and you should remember it, but you have no idea what the voice is saying. You look to see who is speaking, but although you sense that someone is there, you cannot catch sight of them.
When you awaken, you remember what the voice said, even though you still don’t know what language it spoke: “L’oiseau chante avec ses doigts.” But even though you don’t know the language, you realize that you do know what the words mean: “The bird sings with its fingers.”
Vision - Axis Island
You are standing on the deck of the R.N.S. Impossible under a starry sky, contemplating the patterns of the constellations. Suddenly:
You are leaning against a parapet overlooking a confusion of walls and ships and buildings, with fireworks exploding overhead and balls of fire rolling along the ground toward you. Suddenly:
You are standing on a wide open grassland under a blue sun in a purple sky, watching a herd of six-legged creatures grazing in the distance. Suddenly:
You and your fellow squad members are being battered by the elements, though you seem to be inside a dark cave. Suddenly:
You see a huge explosion in the distance, and the flaming figure of a warrior streaking from it across the sky, raising its sword to smite the moon. Suddenly:
You are standing on the deck of the R.N.S. Impossible under a starry sky.
Vision - Second Breakfast
You dream of a bagel topped with cream cheese and smoked salmon. You awaken hungry.
Mireya’s Visions
Vision - Black Hole Sun
You are walking along a trail in the Cloudwood – the same trail that you took to see Wickett, but this time you are alone. You once more see Wickett’s apprentice Samantha, but this time she is sitting on a rock, playing a lute.
Vision - The Pear Dream
You had the pear dream again.

Vision - Axis Island 2
You fall asleep in a hammock slung on the deck of the R.N.S. Impossible under a starry sky. Suddenly:
A hulking monster made of leaves and vines and twigs is standing before you, raising a large club. Suddenly:
You are standing on a beach under a night sky in which the planets are all in the wrong places and the moon is shining blue. Suddenly:
You are flung into the sky, surrounded by fire, your hair aflame, and your dying thought is that you have failed to carry out the mission entrusted to you by your king. Suddenly:
You are shaken awake by the bos’n. “You sleep like the dead,” she says. “Get up. Everyone’s in the mess already.”
Vision - Launch Party
A vision of a crowd; a purple ribbon; the Beran city Seobriga; a girl with a lisp singing the Risuri royal anthem; an empty bed; a broken tin whistle.
