Risuri Navy Invades Axis Island
Duchess Ethelyn Arrested, Island Returned to Danor
Axis Island in the Yerasol Archipelago was attacked and taken over yesterday by an armada of the Risuri Navy.
The invasion has “displaced” a force led by Duchess Ethelyn that invaded the island barely a week ago, according to an announcement by the Royal Palace. The Duchess has been arrested and is being brought back to Risur “to face judgement,” the Palace said.
Casualties were reportedly heavy on both sides. There are reports that at least one Risuri Navy ship was sunk, although this has not been officially confirmed. It has also been reported that Fey forces were involved in the fighting, but it is not clear which side they were on.
Immediately after taking over Axis Island, the Navy officially returned the island to Danoran control. This would seem to eliminate the possibility of another war in the Yerasol Archipelago.
Local reactions to this announcement have been mixed, as some in Flint supported Duchess Ethelyn’s agression against Danor, while others favoured King Aodhan’s peace efforts and feared the outbreak of yet another war.
