The canary in a coal mine is a tiny pendant in the shape of a canary, dangling from a gold chain.
Properties
Warning
The pendant turns black as coal in the presence of danger.
If you are surprised, attacks against you during the first round of combat are made with disadvantage.
Flight
As a bonus action, you can speak the canary’s command word to gain a fly speed of 60 feet until the end of your next turn. You can’t use this property of the canary again until the next dawn.
Anti-Teleportation
The gold necklace prevents teleportation, as usual.
History
This item was given by Gale to Nilasa Hume, who gave it to Dr. Wolfgang Recklinghausen, from whom it was confiscated by the Royal Homeland Constabulary.
