Summer Camp Prep 2025
Week 1: Nourishment
Assignment 1
I like to think that in my world, nourishment, in the sense of "what one needs," comes from the two axial poles of my world's thesis: Law and Chaos. Beings in my world will likely receive power or nourishment from the forces that bolster each axial power. But one has to strive for it; languishing in "hopelessness" is likely a surefire way to guarantee malnourishment. That is in a metaphysical and spiritual sense.
With regards to actual food for energy, that depends on time and place, but in general, such things are not too hard to come across, save for in times of war and famine.
Assignment 2
*See above for pledge cert.
I'd really like to start layering some history to my world, most things I have are quite contemporary to my campaigns, so I have a tentative interest in seeing what stuff exists in the thousands of years that happened before. Alternatively, I would also be interested in fleshing out the more metaphysical realms and rules of my world.
Assignment 3
No changes needed.
Week 2: Roots
Assignment 1
This is one area of the very things I'd like to work on. I think I have had a very "environment dictates culture" approach to world building, I'd like to utilise more "historical dictates culture" strategies to see if they provide an interesting difference. As I am writing this, I have had a notion on how I can apply this to some parts of the world I already have.
Assignment 2
I, at some point, do have a plan to redesign the cover page and organisation categories for my home page, though it will take some time for me to put together the ingredients and work out the kinks. But it is something I am looking into for the future.
Assignment 3
It's funny looking back at the existing articles I have from then. They dont suit the direction I have for my world now, that being said, I have recently been reworking the occasional old idea from that period to match my current goals, and I think I will likely keep doing so as they become relevent, I still have many, many ideas from when i first started, some of whitch are still very similar to what I have now as core aspects, but just refined. I suppose that is the natural progression of things.
Week 3: Metamorphosis
Assignment 1
I'm not sure how to answer this question. Micro changes are always occurring on an everyday level, but the effect is generally negligible. Perhaps the occasional shift in status will occur, but largely, things remain stagnant, except for things revolving around my players. True, metamorphic realm shakling change only hapens at the end of a cycle, but that is an exceedingly rare occurrence.
Assignment 2
I actually have plans of dramatically shifting what genre of book I'm reading for a bit. Presently, I only read fantasy (for obvious reasons), but when I finish with the series that I'm currently reading (ASOIAF) I'm planning on reading both of the DUNE trilogies. Looking forward to seeing how they play out, iv never read any sci-fi books before.
Assignment 3
Damn, everyones so good at this haha.
Week 4: Tomorrow
Assignment 1
Who, the villains, a dark future where only those who align with the villains' axial penchant (law or chaos) can keep standing. Surely it is the players who must work to preserve the balance between law and chaos.
Assignment 2
Things are as ready as they'll ever get at the moment.
Assignment 3
At it alone this time, but that's ok, I've developed in my ways of thinking, so I think I'm more prepared to attack this challenge than last year.
Best of luck with your pledge! Enjoy SC :)
