Spoken phrases among the desert people of Zami Ramal often spring from ideas around water, dust, goats, camels and weather. The people of the desert often speak in their native dialect, and it is considered polite to at least attempt a few local phrases. These are a few idioms that will give you a flavour of the native people and their ways:

A blessing upon you, sincere gratitude or hearty welcome.

What is advantageous for one may mean misfortune for another.

The winds do not blow as the nomads wish.

Entering the bath isn’t like leaving it.
Beware of free gifts, you may end up paying for it.
May the fleas of a thousand camels infest your shirt!
A curse, a wish of ill-will.
To evade a trap, one must know it is there.
Be mindful of yourself and your surroundings and you will avoid trouble.

A man's body is his own; the water belongs to the gods.
You have free will in life, but after you pass away, the gods control your fate.
