Borta
Geography
Borta is home to several countries, including Annetsted, Farron and Bar Khådro. There are also several areas, unclaimed by any particular country which have their own fiefdoms (and even the occasional theifdom) inside.
It is separated from the countries of the Emerrane Pass by the wide Mynpawa Ocean, a great expanse of water which is, for four or five months of the year too treacherous to cross. As such, the people of Borta are remarkably independent from the politics and history of the Emerrane Pass, and are relatively unscathed from their encounters with the people there. Trade is still conducted across the Ocean by those who time their crossing right, and each side sees the other as exotic and rare.
Climate
Borta is of a warmer climate than a lot of the Emerrane Pass, with several large areas of desert and jungles which take up roughly a third of the land. Even outside of these area, the temperatures are rarely cold and have never dropped below 15°C.
