009 - Enter the Kraken

16th Mirtul 1357

They wake up in the dorms on Zahchy.   Moldrig makes hard-boiled eggs and takes a free waterskin with the Zapassnee Order symbol on them. Meanwhile, It notices that Sarah's not around but Mary is.   Thoma spends some time in the library, and finds manuals, histories, magic books and stories and songs. Lox raids the medic cupboard and finds some things which It missed. Thoma then goes to the gym.   Mary gathers everyone together and leads them down to the beach where there are four rowing boats are waiting for them. They get into the boats and start making their way across the channel.   One of them spots a large dark shape in the water. As it gets closer they realise that it's enormous and is in fact a kraken. Everyone is on high alert as the kraken swims closer. Aurelia tries to talk to it, but doesn't manage to. Lox turns into a shark and swims in the water alongside it. Moldrig uses the spell "speak with animals" and amazingly it works. The kraken introduces itself as Blue, and Moldrig gives it an egg. The kraken continues on its way, leaving the boats in peace.   They manage to reach the other side of the channel without further incident. Lox swims as a shark and finds bone underwater. He brings it back and talks to Thoma about it. They identify it as a sun-bleached leg bone of a humanoid.   Thoma goes spearfishing and catches an edible fish.
