Zaclanan Railways Class 8
The Zaclanan Railways Class 8 was a class of two 0-4-0ST steam locomotives built by Neilson, Reid & Co. in 1901. They were ordered to suplement the earlier Class 2 0-4-0STs. The class were mostly used for shunting at Kellion Deep Water Wharf.
The two were used in regular service until 1945 when the first was withdrawn, it was converted for use as a stationary boiler until it was scrapped in the late 60s. The other was withdrawn in 1947 and was broken up for scrap at Sticklands LTD in mid 1953. None of the two have been preserved but one similar is preserved in England having worked in Burton Upon Trent.
