Calamvar

For those wishing to sail through the canal instead of sailing around the island, they must first stop at Calamvar. As a great shipping and fishing city, and built at a prime location, many have tried to capture and control this city. The lords of this land always strive for diplomatic solutions before fighting.

  •   Government: Crowned Republic - King and Queen, Legislative Assembly of Lords, led by the Lead Alderman.
      Economy: The agriculture sector of the economy has seen little growth in the past few decades, though shipping and fishing have boomed. Imports: Iron, Various Stones, Cotton, Tea, Coffee Exports: Beef, Mutton, Wool, Mushrooms, Shore Fish
      Businesses of note: Quayside Inn, Mofton's Mushroom Farm, Alazar's Exotic Beasts and Perils, Huum's Apothecarium and Library
      Attractions:
  • The King's Stone - Located in the town square, this large stone is where the last absolute monarch signed away his power after being abandoned by his few remaining supporters. A celebration once every harvest season commemorates the freedoms of the people, centered around this area.
  • The Everthorn Tree - An ancient gnarled tree that produces wicked thorns every four months. It has been impossible to remove up to this point. The sting of these thorns can cause a sickness called Nettlerot, where the skin becomes inflamed for about three weeks, sometimes falling off.
