Genasi

At times, particular individuals throughout Yyrda experience a particular affinity with one of the four elemental planes; whether at birth or through some catalyzing experience, these “genasi” embody characteristics of that plane in their very beings.
  While some societies include such individuals without question or discrimination, others view them as particularly blessed or cursed, with the name “genasi” deriving from the immortal djinni spirits that make the realm of elemental chaos their home. In Kelsedan, where communion with djinni is common, genasi are often held in high esteem and respect, with many members of the ruling elite evincing elemental characteristics due to their proximity with djinnic power.
