The Academia Arcana

Do you think this is okay? You could have been killed! And somehow someone so severely lacking managed to destroy a priceless artifact. The Headmaster has been notified, he will carry out your sentence...   - Archmage Oradin Rosch
The Academia Arcana is the premier institution for arcane learning, the likes of which can only be found in the nation of Avernosa. Mages, tinkerers, and even those born with innate arcane talent venture far and wide to the Academy for access to their vast stores of ancient knowledge, their unmatched facilities, and their important role in the governance and safety of Avernosa.

Persons of Interest

High Arcanist   The position of High Arcanist has remained unfilled throughout the Academy's history. Wielding control of the Academy's construct armies and arcane defenses, this position remains empty until dire need drives the Archamges to vote.   Headmaster Galen Arathmir   Elven Illusion Wizard   An elven man of many years, Galen is a well-respected member of the upper echelons of Avernosan society, known for his level head and talent with illusion magics.   Archmage Oradin Rosch   Human Order of Scribes Wizard   Archmage of the School of Ancient Studies and Lost Planar Artifacts, known for his abrasive personality, his temper, and his long drawn out explanations of all things historic.   Archmage Kysilian Toranos   Half-Orc Conjuration Wizard   Archmage of the School of Conjuration and Planar Anomalies, known for being a bit unhinged but friendly in his demeanor, and for his unmatched talent as a conjurer.   Archmage Delewin Crane   Eladrin Evocation Wizard   Archmage of the School of Evocation and Planar Empowerment, a veteran of the Hellish Incursion with an unsettling calm and warmth to her demeanor.   Archmage Reldan Moltenshaper   Mountain Dwarf Abjuration Wizard   Archmage of the School of Abjuration and Planar Warding, has cultivated a reputation for starting fights at most staff meetings over issues regarding treatment of non-wizard students, specifically warlocks. Hates the elitism of the Academy and knows that as long as they're the favorite of the High Arcanist, they can try to brute force change for as long as they'd like.   Archmage Snex Brengar   Kobold Transmutation Wizard   Archmage of the School of Transmutation and Lower Planar Studies, spent a life's journey to become a real dragon and be able to fly, accidentally became a master of Transmutation magic under the apprenticeship of the previous Archmage of Transmutation. Quite enjoys his comfy office in the school basement.   Archmage Mockery Anerris   Tiefling Enchantment Wizard   Archmage of the School of Enchantment and Planar Powers, known amongst students as perhaps the hardest teacher to go against. Due to the arcane laws of Kelember, the conventional use of Enchantment spells are banned under the Seal of Elven Masters. Reserved for severe life and death situations, most instruction on the subject is defensive rather than offensive. Mockery is known for taking no mercy when subjecting students to Enchantment spells. Some call her cruel, others caring.   Archmage Xendir Mosk   Human Necromancy Wizard   Archmage of the School of Arcane Necromancy and Shadowfell Studies; most people consider him a macabre figure, but his large collections of both birds and top-quality teas show that his obsession with the dead may be a bit overblown.   Archmage Angaryn Abborel   Half-Drow War Wizard/Eldritch Knight   Archmage of the School of Combat Casting and Defensive Arcana; what most would consider the "jock" of the school staff. The least talented in pure arcane arts, but still formidable and deadly in her own right. Seen as the pillar of several communities in the lower levels of Ellesmere, devotes a lot of free time to teaching defensive magic to those without the wealth to afford classes.
