Deities of YonZora

The Pantheons of YonZora: An Account of Creation, Cataclysm, and Divine Legacy

As recorded by the High Conclave of Clerics, Druids, and Archmages of Avalon

I. The Origins of All Things — The Multiverse and the First World

For thousands of years, the greatest minds of YonZora—clerical theologists, druidic lorekeepers, and mages of the arcane universities—have wrestled with a single question:

Where did our world come from?

Through visions, planar expeditions, and ancient draconic records, these scholars reached one shared conclusion:

YonZora is but one world among many within the great Multiverse.

Other realms—Toril, Oerth, Krynn, Eberron, and countless unnamed spheres drifting within the Astral Sea—exist alongside our own. Yet all share a single, primordial origin. They are fragments of a far older creation:

The First World

Before time was measured and before mortals walked upon soil, the Ancient One Asgorath, also known as Io, forged the First World.

  • Asgorath is the greater deity of all dragonkind, embodiment of balance, peace, creation, and destiny.
  • He is said to remember all that ever was, wield every spell ever spoken, contain a version of every magic item ever crafted, and perceive the infinite futures of all worlds.

The First World was shaped out of formless Chaos, sculpted by Asgorath’s claws and sung into existence by the Song of Creation, whose notes became the mountains, seas, and skies.

II. The First Children of Asgorath

After shaping the First World, Asgorath gave life to the first divine pantheon of dragonkind:

Drako

Dragon God of GoodLawful Good, Domains: Life, War
Symbol: Dragon’s head in profile

Thanika

Dragon Goddess of EvilLawful Evil, Domains: Trickery
Symbol: Five colored stones in a ring

Tatsuo

Primordial Gem Dragon DeityTrue Neutral, Domains: Magic
Symbol: Five gemstones in a circle

These three were his divine heirs and the most powerful gods to rise from his Song. Together with Asgorath himself, they formed the Four Greater Draconic Powers, the mightiest pantheon in all existence.

From them arose the dragons, the peoples, and the primal forces of the First World.

III. The Birth of Mortals and the Younger Pantheons

In time, Asgorath’s creative will expanded. He shaped:

  • Humanoids of every kind
  • Animals, plants, and spirits of nature
  • The lands and waters that would cradle life
  • The divine pantheons known across all worlds—gods of elves, dwarves, giants, orcs, fey, and more

His intent was harmony: mortals and gods living within the balance of his creation.

For a time, all was good.

IV. The Betrayal of Thanika

But peace cannot endure where ambition festers.

Thanika, radiant and terrible, coveted the worship of all mortals. She sought to supplant Asgorath, bending the First World to her dominion alone.

Her rebellion plunged the heavens into a war that would echo across eternity.

The Divine War of the First World

Drako fought for his father.
Tatsuo sought balance.
Pantheons across the First World chose sides.

The war was devastating—gods clashing across continents, mountains turned to dust, oceans boiling from divine flame. Millions of mortals perished in a conflict they never asked to join.

In the end…

The First World Shattered

The destruction enraged Asgorath. The death of so many innocents nearly drove the Ancient One to unmake existence entirely.

Instead, he passed judgment:

  • Many evil pantheons were slain or cast down.
  • Others were banished to newly-formed prisons:
  • Tarterus, realm of eternal confinement
  • The Abyss, chaos incarnate
  • The Nine Hells of Baator, tyranny eternal

From the fragments of the ruined First World, Asgorath fashioned the Multiverse—countless worlds born from the ashes of one.

V. The Creation of YonZora

Among the new worlds Asgorath shaped, none were more carefully crafted than YonZora. He chose which pantheons would inhabit and watch over it—ensuring no single power could dominate creation again.

The following four great mortal pantheons were granted dominion:

• Greek Pantheon

Worshiped widely across North Azure and Wickbar for their influence over fate, heroism, and the mortal condition.

• Roman Pantheon

Worshiped in South Azure, Soteropolis region, and parts of Sappire. Revered for order, civilization, war, and empire.

• Norse Pantheon

Honored for valor, destiny, and the cycles of life and death.

• Egyptian Pantheon

Mostly Worshipped in the realm of Zavabu Guides of souls, judges of the dead, preservers of cosmic balance.

These are the gods most commonly worshipped across human and allied realms.

VI. The Minor and Racial Pantheons of YonZora

Asgorath also permitted the arrival of several racial or specialized pantheons, each tied to a people or cosmic role.

Draconic Pantheons

  • Drako, Dragon God of Good
  • Thanika, Dragon Goddess of Evil
  • Tatsuo, Gem Dragon Sovereign

Elven Pantheons

  • Corellon Larethian — Elven god of art, beauty, and magic
  • Lolth — Drow goddess of spiders, shadows, and treachery

Orcish Pantheons

  • Gork, one of the twin Orc war gods
  • Mork, the other half of the brutal and cunning duality worshipped by orcs

These pantheons serve as protectors, guides, and cultural anchors for the races that venerate them.

VII. The Divine Legacy of YonZora

Thus, the world of YonZora stands today as a mosaic of ancient, deliberate divine purpose—
a world shaped not merely by creation, but by memory, consequence, and cosmic vigilance.

  • Forged from the ashes of a broken universe, the remnants of the First World reforged by Asgorath’s will.
  • Guarded by pantheons personally chosen to watch over the new world and guide the mortal races.
  • Echoed by the memories of the First World, whose destruction still lingers in myth, magic, and prophecy.
  • Forever shaped by the ancient struggle between balance and ambition, between Asgorath’s design, Drako’s loyalty, Thanika’s rebellion, and Tatsuo’s neutrality.

In the Age of Reforging, when the pantheons first set foot upon YonZora, Asgorath established a great cosmic safeguard—a system of Divine Constellations.

The Divine Constellations

Every deity allowed to reside in YonZora’s cosmology bears a sacred constellation in the night sky, a star-woven sigil representing their domain, lineage, and power. These constellations serve as a cosmic calendar, a divine registry, and a warning to any who would ignore the actions of the gods.

For the mortals of YonZora, these constellations provide a rare measure of certainty in an uncertain world:

  • When a deity’s constellation shines bright, that god is present within their home outer plane—
maintaining order, watching from afar, or fulfilling their eternal role within the cosmic hierarchy.
  • When a constellation vanishes, the meaning is unmistakable:
that god is physically walking the Material World.

This truth is known to scholars, star-readers, temple astrologers, and certain secret orders of druids and mages. It is the one divine law that cannot be hidden, a rule set by Asgorath himself.

A Cosmic Check and Balance

This system was created as a check upon divine ambition. No god may move among mortals unseen, for the sky itself records their absence. No divine interference goes unnoticed by those who know how to read the heavens.

For the people of YonZora, the appearance—or disappearance—of a constellation is an omen of great weight. It may herald:

  • A god arriving to correct an imbalance
  • A divine test
  • Preparation for war among the pantheons
  • The rise of a chosen champion
  • Or the return of a threat thought long forgotten

Thus, stargazing is not merely a scholarly art—it is a sacred watchtower over the world itself.

Clerics, druids, and mages continue their life’s work studying these star-signs and the histories behind them, believing that to understand the pantheons is to understand YonZora itself
and perhaps, to prevent a second shattering of creation.
