Tale of the Sisters Three

As told by Lorekeeper Laisren   There once were three sisters. The eldest was born wrinkled and weak, it was thought she would surely not survive long, but survive she did, growing to become a hideous child. And as she grew it seemed that she aged even more as she did, however the mind within the withered husk was incredibly keen and shrewd. The second sister when she was born seemed a normal child, though very quiet and strong for her age and size. She grew into a simple but very strong woman.   When the third sister was born it was remarked by many that a more perfect baby never existed, and as she grew she very soon became a remarkable beauty, one so beautiful in fact that it drew the attention of a local lord who came to call.   When he arrived however the only one home was the eldest, and when she left the house to see what the man wanted he yelled in fright and howled for his guards to get him away from the foul beast before him.   He had his guards beat the eldest daughter and then rode away.   When the other two sisters returned to their home and found the eldest sister beaten and broken on the ground they were shocked and took her inside and nursed her back to health.   When the story of what happened was revealed, the youngest sister was furious with her sister, “why did you have to show your hideous face, why did you have to ruin my only chance of a better life.” She screamed.   The eldest then looked at the youngest and said “Do you really think that pig would give you a better life? You know nothing you idiot, do you think he wants anything other than your beauty? Your beauty will one day fade, and when that does what will you have then?”   The youngest thought about this and knowing as she did how her sister was usually right about most things, she calmed herself and pouted, “Well what can we do about it?”   And the eldest said “We can take the happy life we want from that foolish toad of a man.”   And with that the eldest told her siblings of the plan that she had devised.   Some time later the youngest sister sent a letter to the lords house pleading with him to come calling again, promising much and hinting at even more it was a letter the lord would not be able to refuse. In the letter she asked him to only bring one guard that he trusted without question, for the things they would be doing could not become rumor.   Promptly the next day, as expected, the lord arrived astride his steed with his court wizard in tow.   The youngest sister went out to greet him and took the overjoyed lord by the hand and went skipping with him towards the house, the wizard following close behind.   Once inside the house The Youngest got the lord all tangled up in his clothes, and from in hiding beneath the bed the second sister, the strongest of them came out and tackled the lord to the ground, putting a blade to his throat, The Youngest also pulled a knife and had his manhood at the point.   It was then that the eldest sister stepped out and approached the wizard, “If you wish my sisters to spare the life of the toad you call lord, you must make a deal with me on this day.” The wizard startled and turned to her protesting and yelling at her that there would be hell to pay, all the armies of the land hunting them like dogs.   The eldest let the words wash over her, knowing them to be worthless and without bite.   “I want your power, all of it, grant me that and you may have your lord back.”   The wizard scoffed at the eldest sister, “You do not understand what you ask, you cannot, a stupid farmer like you, what do you know of true power.”   “Will you accept or will my sisters gut your lordling like a trout.”   “Fine, you can have my power, take it now if you can.” The wizard laughed thinking that this woman was but a simple farmer.   But that was not the case, the eldest had found the old rituals, had learned them, had learned the words needed.   And so she spoke them… And again, and again, three times she spoke, three times to bind for all times.   The other two sisters left the house releasing the terrified lord to flee into the woods, and the other sisters spoke the words as well, taught to them by their sister, they spoke them three times each.   And power freely offered was taken.   The Wizard screamed and writhed on the ground before the three sisters, his life force, his soul, his magic, all three were taken, as all power was offered.   To the eldest went his magic, to the second sister his soul, and to the youngest his life force.   And that is the story of how the sisters three came to be.
