Luth Maica

Luth Maica - the charmed blades, it is said that among the knights of the talon there once was an order of knights that called themselves such. If this is still the case and if they are practicing these arts still is unknown by Laisren. In their prime there were only ever 5 members of Luth Maica at any one time and all were of the rank of Knight Lieutenant or higher. Their leader was Marshal Shael Dai’shan. It was said that these knights were able to cast spells, and channel even more through their blades, and some were able to channel magic through their bows as well.   It was also said that Luth Maica could be easily found on the battlefield by any with ears, as it was said when their weapons struck the sounds of thunder would follow.   The origins of the order came from a single elven duelist who had mastered the arts and came to pledge their sword and bow to the Talon’s order. The elf was clearly a warrior but one that had renounced their previous name and asked to be called Shael. Essentially meaning object of use. This elf was in actuality of nobility and an officer in the Aravandorian army. The elf turned in their commission as an officer and left the elven court after the loss of Lothien. The elf was named Tarathiel Leolen, he achieved the rank of Marshal within the Knights of the Talon, he was the commander of Luth Maica and a well regarded Dai’shain as well. He was one of the only Marshals ever allowed to be of the Silver Banner.   The reason why Tarathiel renounced his family name and pledged service to the Knights was not truly known to any but Tarathiel but it was thought to have something to do with the loss of Yodenheim, and the loss of his son Haemir. (Tarathiel Leolen is Hyrm’s grandfather on his fathers side)   Current truth of the Luth Maica, it is a largely lost art, the training and skill necessary for one to become one of the order is not something that enough of the knights were capable of, and dedicating time training and money towards furthering the training of a handful of knights was not deemed a good use of resources and the knights of the order were reassigned to different companies.
