Threnazel, the Silent Thorn
Long ago, when Veilminster was still young, the sky split with fire, and from the storm descended a monstrous dragon known only as Vethanul, the Mourning Wyrm. Drawn by the sorrow steeped within the earth and the divine energies radiating from the Cathedral of Veils, it ravaged the land for thirteen nights. The king’s armies failed. Sorcerers were burned mid-incantation. And the high priest declared the city's fate was sealed. Then rose Sir Elryan of the Shattered Choir—a knight once cast out for singing funeral hymns to his fallen enemies on the battlefield. Elryan bore no armor but sorrow, no crown but guilt, and no weapon but a newly forged lance of divine grief. He named it Threnazel, “the Silent Thorn.”
