Zambaleth

In the beginning ....   Before the concept of before ....   There was NOTHING. An endless, sprawling nothingness.   This infinite nothingness was obliterated when existence screamed itself into being.    In the raw chaos that ensued, existence found the concept of order. More importantly the lack thereof. Scattered and unrelated energies surge through the cosmos. Sometimes these energies coalesce into more complex energies, other times these energies are destroyed in the chaos. Entire consciousness brought into existence only to be snuffed out just as fast.    As events progressed, several entities found themselves capable of cooperating to manifest refuge from the storm, and created the first vestiges of Zambaleth, the city of the gods.    Over the course of it's construction it provided a safe haven for creatures from far and wide, seeking to escape obliteration. In it's prime, Zambaleth was the center of a kingdom that boasted billions of sentient citizens.   Zambaleth experienced peace and prosperity for the majority of the first iteration of the universe, and was destroyed during a Divine Civil War, shortly before the beginning of the second iteration.
