Turingidden
One of the strongest metals in the mortal realms, Turingidden is also extremely conductive to Ectenic energies.
The ore for this element is not necessarily rare, but very difficult to refine even small amounts.
Zek'Ashel is fond of using this material to outfit his champions.
Properties
Material Characteristics
A dark brown metallic substance, in it's refined form Turingidden has a dull sheen to it, regardless of ambient light. The metal is usually imbued with energy that can be felt by entities sensitive enough. After being refined from it's ore, Turingidden congeals into small, perfectly round beads. These are incredibly hard, and can only be worked into usable billets by a skilled and powerful craftsperson.
History & Usage
Discovery
Zek'Ashel sent Archmage Kaz to find a material capable of withstanding his raw power, and therefore the power he has bestowed on his champions.
Kaz found Turingidden, an element that was completely unharmed by massive blasts of SoulForce. She could hit this material with energy of such magnitude that it shreds reality, blowing away everything in an area. The Turingidden is unaffected.
She found this material rather by accident after a spell backfired and put a rather large create in the ground. There were these weird little glinty pebbles dotting the base of the crater that had survived the blast like it was nothing.
She gathered what she could and returned to Zek'Ashel who tinkered with it and made it into what it is today.
Refinement
The ore for this material is slightly magnetic, preventing any type of metal tools from being used nearby. The expenditure of this magnetism is essential to the refinement process. The ore has a ton of impurities and useless material in general. By dialing up the magnitude to an excessive degree, the impurities are shredded away, leaving only raw Turingidden. The ratio of ore to metal is pithy, and attaining even a small amount produces mounds of tiny debris, rocks and dirt.
A skilled and powerful craftsperson must then work the Turingidden into usable billets from the refined material.
Forging Turingidden is relatively easy, the billets are pliable until exposed to a huge blast of SoulForce, after which it becomes almost indestructible.
Hazards
Turingidden is toxic to the soul, and overexposure causes sickness and insanity. If the entity has a large SoulForce they will not notice this effect.
During the refinement of it's ore, Turingidden produces a gas that is highly intoxicating. This extremely dangerous byproduct occasionally is found in the underground drug world.
Rarity
The ore is not, but the refined metal is extremely rare.
