Races

General

  Races are standard 5E with the exception of Tiefling. I don't know what to make of them so they do not exist. There are also no half races. No half-elves, half orcs, or half anything else.   If you want to play a non-standard race, let's discuss.

Dwarves

  Dwarves have three major kingdoms. Norway, in the Scandinavian peninsula (noting that a much smaller Sweden is peopled by humans). Naverre in the Pyrenees Mountains, and Vaud in the Alps around Lake Geneva. Dwarves have been in Europe from the dawn of time. They were created with the earth itself. Dwarves speak Norwegian, though the Iberian and Alpine dwarves have their accents.  Dwarves from their three major kingdoms are 90% Mountain Dwarves and 10% Hill Dwarves.  Smaller settlements scattered around the continent have these numbers reversed.   https://www.fantasynamegenerators.com/norwegian-names.php https://www.fantasynamegenerators.com/dwarf_names.php

Elves

  Elves are the original sentient race of Europe. Their language is Celtic. Before the Dwarves showed up (the elves will tell you that they climbed out of the earth), all of Europe belonged to the elves. While the elves still have small settlements hidden in the forests across the continent, their kingdoms are found in Erie and the north of Albion. The elves stopped the Romans advance and caused them to build Hadrian's Wall to stop elvish raids. Halflings

  Halflings showed up around the same time as the humans. They have no kingdoms but have towns in protected human areas. They speak the languages of the peoples around them.  

Gnomes

Gnomes are found in all the major cities of Europe where they ply trades like goldsmith. They have out-competed other races for space (at least until the arrival of Goblinkind in recent centuries). They have seen empires rise and fall. These include Babylon, Assyria, Greece, Carthage, and Rome. The Roman empire lives on with it's capital at Constantinople. Human kingdoms rule much of Europe from Albion, Francia, and the Italian states. Humans speak languages like English, French, Italian, and Spanish. Dragonborn

  Long before the elves, Serpentkind (Dragons, Naga, Salamanders and Dragonborn) ruled Europe. When Europe turned cold and wet, Serpentkind migrated south. They have the empire of Mali in western Africa. In the last century, some have decided to return to Europe. Theirs is the Kingdom of Cordoba in the Iberian peninsula. Of course, Dragonkind speaks Draconic.  

Giantkind

  Giants had their kingdoms in Europe at the same time as the age of Serpents. The Giant view of history is that races are getting smaller, weaker, and breed like flies.

Goblinkind

  Goblinkind is made up of Goblins, Orcs, Orogs, Hobgoblins and the like. They came out of the North and East in the past few hundred years. They speak German. They have a very large number of small kingdoms in the Germanies and further east. larger kingdoms include Bavaria (Orc dominated) and Prussia (Hobgoblin dominated). While the Humans have a stereotype of Goblinkind being primitive, they are, in fact, as advanced as any human kingdom. Goblinkind has the notion of Manifest Destiny. Drow

  Drow are the elves of Stygia (also known as Egypt). They are reported to worship demons and rule over a huge slave population.
