The Isles of Tsarrat
Thunder rumbles with the hooves of a thousand horses, lightning bursts forth from outstretched hands, the flashes of light destroying all things held sacrosanct by the fallen. Blinding sandstorms follow in their wake; nations sway and part as they approach. Yet, these powerful people, whose wrath is feared across Xùyì, the culmination of a dozen warrior cultures, can trace their lineage back to humble beginnings. None, however, were more lowly than the Ömed.
Yet the Fates, in their wisdom, elevated these simple people, causing them to become the right hands of the most powerful creatures known in history: the Vampires.
According to legend, the Ömed introduced the secrets of immortality to the original Vampire lineages, ushering in a new age of warfare, changing the face of Xùyì forever. Where, and how they stumbled upon this information remains a carefully guarded, though contested mystery. One that cannot fall into the wrong hands. The Isles of Tsarrat, the Vampire's origins, remain carefully guarded. Forbidden.
Geography
Finding yourself upon those hidden isles, gazing upon the stillness of the waters, is to fully understand the dream of the Kjurvog-- as it was when they first passed through the inland sea, reaching the shores and uncertainty of the future. Trees that flourish year-round adorn the island. Flowers of every color entwined between them, some crawling up the sides of trees and the few, modest buildings. Birds, small and elegant, unlike those idolized today, could be seen dancing among them, their songs blending into a chorus that reaches the very heavens. Communal houses, small huts intended to be made temporary, float in the waters surrounding these isles, once offering shelter for those not of their own. Fish of red, violet, and green splash through these waters, unburdened by mankind.
Those who are routinely tasked with watching this place report similar thoughts. It is breathtakingly beautiful, yet terrible. Godless. A spellbound land, they call it, frozen in time. Few return willingly.
