Dragon Lords: A Game of Adventures

"Dragon Lords" require dice, tokens, and a considerable amount of luck. Four to eight players roll a set of ten dice each at the beginning of the game. Each number equates to a Heroic or Villainous Archetype. These ten heroes comprise the Dragon Lord's adventuring party. and are presented in a way that their opponents may see who they've rolled. Once the Dragon has named its adventurers, the game can begin.

At the beginning of each round, all players draw a single round token from the Fate and Fortune bowls. These affect another player's character token, or minion. During their turn, the player can cast a Fate Token to harm another persons character. Other members can choose to interfere and aid them, hoping for further compensation near the end-game. The Fortune tokens cannot be used to aid the players own. Once each turn is finished, any unused token is returned to the bowls while the used ones remain with the player that cast them. New tokens are chosen, and the game continues until there are no heroes left.

Players can form silent alliances, as speaking is against the rules, to ensure that the players holding the greatest and least amount of threat are eliminated first. Once two players remain, the End-Game rules apply. Three tokens are taken from each pile, and the players may choose to defend their characters or hurry their inevitable defeat. With good luck, the game will last for nearly half an hour.

Dragon Lords has received backlash over its mockery of the adventuring class, and the replaceability of the many nameless 'heroes'. The game has been barred among the Eastern Alliance for observing the hypocrisy that a Vampire wouldn't openly kill their own but would send hirelings to do their dirty work.
