The Amethyst Arcanum

The Amethyst Arcanum is an insitution of higher magickal learning that trains would-be mages to manipulate and protect the naturally abundant magick that pervades all of Xelestar.   Many Arcanum students have a somewhat religious appreciation for Magick by the time they graduate, viewing it not as a force to control but rather as a perfect, omni-present, blessing. Students often already have a strong relationship with Magick before entering the Arcanum (largely because it sports an extremely demanding entrance evaluation) , and view the Arcanum as an opportunity to be lead directly toward the path they wish to ultimately use their Magick for. Oftentimes, students have the goal of working for the Amethyst Arcanum itself as the institution famously appoints small militaristic forces throughout Malthus as one of the few counter balances against Nascian theocracy.
