Menoon
This bizarre and seldom seen creature is a type of reptile. It's about the size of a triceratops, has six legs and a short, thick tail.
They have a thick, but delicate skin covered in thick, strong scales, which is usually either light yellow, dark bronze, light silver or blue or a combination of these colors.
They live in low areas and are common. They're omnivores and their large, wide mouths, their teeth and narrow tongue are ideal for eating leaves.
They're crepuscular and rely on their sight and hearing to get around. They do have lack of a visible nose, but their sense of smell is not impressive.
They have odd, but interesting eyes and small, round ears. Their heads are long and narrow in comparison to their bodies.
They make sounds ranging from high pitched to relatively high pitched and have a extremely large range of sounds they make to indicate discoveries, dangers and otherwise communicate with each other.
These creatures are invasive and their personal space is fiercely defended. They mate once every two years and they mate with a select group of partners for life. Which, with their long lifepans, is to be expected.
These creatures have been tamed and are occausionally use as battle steeds for wizards and mages. Their training consists of lots of food as reward and punishment for bad behavior.
