Seshet
(a.k.a. The Great Scribe, The Star Counter, Ruler of the Night)
Seshet is the Bennuan deity of knowledge, writing, mathematics, and the night sky. They are usually shown as an ahawti-shmt Bennu wearing the pelt of a leopard draped over their head and shoulders, with a roll of papyrus in one hand and a quill in the other. Seshet's devoted followers run the gamut from scribes and teachers to architects and land surveyors, making Seshet one of the most widely worshipped deities in the Bennuan pantheon. Anytime a hunter kills a leopard, they will often spend the entire night beseeching Seshet for forgiveness, as the deity is known to be ferociously protective of their sacred animal. Much like their consort's sanctuaries, Seshet's temples are numerous, with many acting as both libraries and schools in smaller communities. Their central temple is located in the coastal town of Iunu, at the mouth of the River Nu."Knowledge is a gift, handed to us by the Great Scribe. It is not to be squandered."- Rashidi the Enlightened, High Priestess of Seshet, to Xanthippe the Traveler, circa 740 EX
