Atum
(a.k.a. The Burning One, The Great Creator, The Wind-Spinner)
Atum is the Bennuan deity of the sun, winds, hope, and creation. They are depicted as an anx Bennu wearing the pelt and horns of a ram draped over their head and shoulders, with a solar disk cradled between their hands. Atum is considered to be the chief deity of the Bennuan pantheon, and receives offerings from the humblest of farmers to the wealthiest of merchants. They, along with their consort Nert, are also the oldest of the Bennuan deities and features prominently in the most ancient examples of Bennuan art and writing. Temples to Atum are abundant, but the oldest and most revered is in the Great Sand Sea, surrounded by pyramids and located not far from the Hesu Oasis. Their largest temple sits at the very center of Kydyras beside Nert's central temple, so close that they share a wall."Every ray is a gift from the Burning One. When in need of guidance, look toward the light."- Hepsephah of Besybenu, first High Priest of Atum, circa 12 EX
