Angaria
(a.k.a. The Silent One, The Dark Lady, The Harvester)
Angaria is the Gorgorian goddess of pain, silence, secrets, and death. She is depicted as a hooded Gorgorian woman with a finger held to her lips and a scroll clutched in her left hand. She is easily the most feared figure in the Gorgorian pantheon, with most only praying to her at the moment of death or in a plea to end their suffering. Despite her fearsome reputation, Angaria does have a dedicated following consisting entirely of female Gorgorons, who refer to themselves of as the Sickles of the Silent One. Though these priestesses mainly act as morticians, their magic is so feared that many Gorgoron tyrants have banned temples of Angaria from their city-states and forbidden the Sickles from setting foot inside the city walls. Formerly, her cult was centered in the city of Idollonia, high atop a cliff overlooking the seaside settlement. However, in 3982 DX, the newly appointed tyrant of Idollonia ordered the Sickles to be executed and the temple razed. When his soldiers arrived, however, they discovered that not only the priestesses had vanished, but so had the entire structure. Angaria's temple reappeared nine nights later on a formerly empty island on the outskirts of Kydyras, not far from her Bennuan counterpart's temple. This event and its consequences for Idollonia are known as The Reaping."Speak her name only in whispers, my heart. And pray she does not hear you all the same."- A Gorgorian mother to her child, date unknown
