Ananke is the Gorgorian goddess of necessity, inevitability, and fate. She is often depicted as a blindfolded Gorgorian woman holding a torch aloft in her left hand. To pray to Ananke is to accept that all things come in due time, and understand that there is a difference between knowing one's destiny and achieving one's destiny. Her most ardent followers include prophets, diviners, and the downtrodden who seek hope for the future on a distant horizon. Though the center of her cult is in Erike, where the vaunted Oracle of Ananke resides, the largest temple in her honor is a sprawling underground labyrinth beneath the streets of Argea.
