Age of Kings

The Age of Kings is the fourth era post-Fracture, and the current era of Wyrth. This period is categorized by the interconnected nature of much of the world. While travel for the common folk to another nation is expensive and unlikely, there is still a global trade that was unprecedented in previous ages. And, further, that's not to say that it is impossible, simply costly. People of means are more than capable of going on an international trip - much of the nobility does - and those willing to give up what they have at home can go and start anew in foreign lands.   Another key feature that causes the Age of Kings to be distinct is the size of nations. In previous eras, countries were much smaller. The provinces of the Kalastradi Monarchy were separate countries until the early Age of Kings. The same can be said of the Astozian Duchy, as they were all merely lords that swore loyalty - more alliance that vassal - whereas they are now subjugated under the crown. This is more a phenomenon of the Olígan continent, but even Baliklav has confederated, and the Aberian Nomads have created a representative council. This is more-or-less due entirely to the need for a unified identity in order to maintain a sense of self within the global stage.
