Tower of the Stars

On the peak of the mountain which lays over Ka Hei sits the Tower of the Stars. The tower is constructed out of rough stone, and at first glance seems to be impossible. Both extremely tall and very narrow, the tower is barely wide enough for the shoulders of its occupants.   At the very top of the tower roars a large bonfire, whose light can be seen all across the coast. Many in Estalia and Aedan use the tower as a navigation marker, referring to it as the South Star, with most of them not knowing it's artificial nature. In fact, typically it's only sailors travelling far to the southwest of The Brightwater who notice that it isn't a star, as they can watch it become more and more east as they travel south.   This fire is maintained by a group of Pu-Yi - Descendents of a long like of fire keepers - who spend every night feeding fuel to the flame. This in of itself is a challenging task, as this area of The Barrens and Devil's Teeth Range is somewhat scarce in terms of flora, resulting in the cultivation of fields of Zurkhwood underneath the city. Although they let the majority of the bonfire die out during the days, every sunrise they take a portion of the fire with them, which they use to relight the bonfire the following night. The fire keepers see their task as a noble profession, with the light serving as a waypoint for all forms of light in the dark.
