The Fate of Keryth Romys

There are many ways one may outlast their own life. Such as in the memory of their descendants, who can think back to shared, happy times. Or in the institutions we've crafted by their hands, who continue to toil towards the great works of their founders. The legacy of Keryth Romys is not nearly so positive nor so indirect. Scourge of Estalia, Keryth Romys lives in the simmering rage of the downtrodden.   The Estalian-Disorganized Conflicts were marked both by the frequent use of magic as well as the rage with which it was hurled. Over time, these two commonalities coalesced into a tangible force - into a being of anger which had been etched into the very Demispell itself. Scholars to this day cannot agree on who Keryth Romys was: whether they were an individual or a group, or even if they truly existed. Unfortunately, the scholars are both absolutely incorrect, and also gravely correct.   Keryth Romys is a special kind of lichdom which lives through the strong feelings of the people of Wyrring. When one feels extreme anger against those in authority, and gathers others with similar resentments, they may begin to take the form of Keryth Romys. Over the course of several months, one begins to take on the mannerisms and appearance of the Scourge, until eventually becoming completely possessed. While under the control of Romys, they act as the Liberator himself, striking out against those in authority who seek to push down those they deem lesser. This possession continues until they are killed, after which, the spirit releases their posession and dissolves back into the weave, until another suitable candidate arises.
