Savarin Polity

Nicknamed "the Prince of Aedan", Savarin Polity is an important political figure in Aedian history. Born a son of a wealthy trader shortly after the birth of Aedan, Savarin grew up surrounded by the initial wave of hope for complete freedom in the new state. As he grew older, he served his country by becoming one of the earliest members of the Queen's Wardens, until he was forced into an early retirement due to an injury. After this, he followed in his father's footsteps, becoming a trader in quarried stones, making him very rich during the rapid growth of the nation.   After the death of Carral Lottway, the kingdom faced a period of uncertainty, with many believing that they had been free for long enough, and that they should rejoin Estalia. Savarin was an avid supporter of a free Aedan, using much of his wealth to support various organizations and to sway politicians to his views.   During one particularly visible situation, a group of Thalor priests amassed an angry mob, harried into marching on the Lottway estate, found Savarin sitting on the entrance steps, with a group of hired mercenaries standing by. Violence was not necessary, however, as Savarin was able to calm the crowd with an empassioned speech. This event is well-known in Aedian history, with several famous paintings depicting it.   Many historians agree that, without the influence of Savarin Polity, Aedan likely would have reverted back to being a province of Estalia.
"I know our country is not perfect, but I can see where it can go, and we cannot achieve that with the silver boot of Estalia stamped on our necks! Kill me if you must, but you cannot kill my hope."
