Grove of the Weaponmaster
Deep within the Clarenware Woods lies a simple clearing. Serving as the starting place for the Challenge of the Weaponmaster, this clearing is culturally important to the elves of Clare'ware. The clearing itself is very small, with a carved wooden totem at the centre depicting a wolf.
The Challenge of the Weaponmaster
Those who arrive at the clearing may take the Challenge of the Weaponmaster, which is an ancient ritual surrounded in mystery. The rare scholars who have observed this ritual have observed the Challenger being initiated first with a complex festival, including dancing, singing, chanting, and eating. After they have been blessed, challengers have suddenly taken off into the woods, where they seem to vanish. After some time - typically a few days - the Challenger reappears at the center of the clearing, and - if successful - in possession of a golden pin in the shape of crossed swords. Records from the challengers themselves about the ritual are exceedingly rare, either from a loss of memory caused by the strong hallucinogens served during the feast or from personal vows of secrecy. Reports says that, during their time spent in the woods, challengers do battle against giant monsters, swarms of creatures, or even shadowy reflections of themselves. Although an elvish tradition, the challenge is open to anyone with enough martial skill to meet the challenge - although more staunchly traditional elves believe that the privilege should be kept to their own people.Feat
