Atheism and Agnotism

Due to the presence of Totems in Wyrring, Atheism is a rare, but gradually growing belief. With the advent of the Kinetic Engine, the average citizen no longer needed to rely on divine intervention or the help of a friendly mage to achieve miraculous feats. As this coincided with an increased interest in Arcane Indexing and the quantification of magic, many have started to doubt the old myths and legends, attributing Totems as mere monsters - powerful, sure, but not divinely guided.   Agnotism is far more common, with many recognizing the power of the gods but not necessarily following a specific one. Even more common are those born in a culture surrounded by religion - or the influence of religion - and non-commitantly practice that religion. Only Estalia and Sylvia are theological strongholds in Wyrring, due to the extreme degree that Thalor and Silvain's teachings have been incorporated into the respective cultures.
