Here I'm declaring that I will be writing 50,000 words of a new story. It's a story that has been with me for a bit now but I've been holding off on for couple of reasons.

Why? you ask

1. It's based in my Caelum Prime world. One that I've been expanding and learning more about with each article I write.
2. Last year, I was focused on finishing writing Josiah's story.
3. I've been spending the months since editing his story. (not done with this but I've made progress.)
4. It's a mystery novel and I've never written in this genre before so I'm bit scared.

Prep? you ask.

Yes, I have done this. I actually started this last month. I made or expanded on the necessary articles I needed for this story. This was followed by making an outline for me to follow. I put it in checklist form here on World Anvil so that I can check off what I do, and you'll be able to see, at least some of the progress I've made. Note: In writing this, I've had two thoughts come up. 1) I should print my outline out as I'm the type that also needs a physical copy on hand, and 2) I'm going to see about adding a word count tracker to the article.

What Else have I been doing? you ask.

Since NovelEmber lines up with Game of Tomes Werd War event, I've done prep (and am still doing a bit) for that as well. Writing for NovelEmber will be my main project, but I have backups in case I need them, like editing Josiah's story (the parts I haven't done yet).
Mostly I'm taking easy so that I have the mental energy to write next month. Which is something I need as next month is what I call 'balls to the walls push' to get writing done.
