Rakkus the Reveler

Patron God of Parties

Rakkus is one of the older gods on Wulsten, with records of his worship dating back as far as the discovery of alcohol, though it is possible he is much older, possibly going by another moniker in the earliest days of the world. Rakkus is most widely known as a god of celebration and alcohol, but he has many aspects to his divinity. He is often also seen as a god of gambling, debauchery, lust, and trickery, but also as a god who offers peace, protection, rest, and freedom. Slaves and prisoners often pray to Rakkus, seeking freedom, and people in war-torn lands or those ravaged by recent battles also pray to him for some time of respite and recovery. People and businesses interested in hedonistic desires often flock to Rakkus as well.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

The symbol of Rakkus most often takes the form of the image of two mugs mid-toast. This symbol varies by culture, appearing as drinking horns in some parts of the Cohnar valley, or wine glasses in much of the Six-Winds region, for example.

Tenets of Faith

Rakkus has few established beliefs, his followers following an attitude rather than rules. Generally, followers of Rakkus can be expected to be free spirited, always on the lookout for a good party, and charming. One thing that Rakkus does look down on is cruelty. He does not require altruism of any kind, but he dislikes those who are needlessly cruel to others.

Holidays

Rakkus presides over all forms of celebration, even having a hand in the festivals and holidays of other deities. He does have several holidays dedicated to him specifically, but these are typically local holidays. One of the most common types of these local holidays is the dedication of one day out of an intermonth festival week being dedicated to Rakkus, as thanks to him for protecting them during the week of celebration.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

The goals of Rakkus the Reveler are all but unknown, if there indeed are any to begin with. Mostly his following seems to exist to cultivate mortals to become enjoyable party-goers so that when they join him in the divine sphere, his mead hall can be all the merrier.
